"Meet Emily, a young woman in her early twenties who's faced her fair share of challenges. She battles with Pathological Demand Avoidance Syndrome, autism, generalized anxiety disorder, and Type 1 diabetes. In the past, Emily's behaviour was often physically disruptive causing placement breakdowns. She even struggled with taking her insulin and engaged in self-harming behaviours through unhealthy eating.

But here's the inspiring part – Emily's journey has been one of growth and resilience. Over time, she's formed trusting and positive relationships with her dedicated staff, revealing a wonderful sense of humour and playfulness. Emily has made friends with her peers, started going out regularly, and experienced some exciting firsts, like visiting Legoland and having her first romance.

Furthermore, Emily has honed her life skills, now confidently tackling cleaning, cooking, and laundry tasks she couldn't manage before. Gradually, she's building a fulfilling life, and it's been over a year since her last minor incident.

Meet Louise, a remarkable individual whose health conditions can make life very tough. When she’s well, she’s active, running, cooking, and pursuing her passions with gusto. 🏃‍♀️🍳🌟

However, when her health takes a turn for the worse, she can face weeks of emotional distress and vivid hallucinations. There are times when Louise finds herself in a catatonic state, unable to move independently.

At Active Prospects, our approach has been to adapt support according to her changing needs. We make the most of her active moments and provide extra care when she needs it most. The result? Louise hasn't needed hospital treatment for two years, all thanks to Active Prospects and support from you.

This Christmas, you can make a real difference in Louise's life and the lives of others we support. 🎁
